Correction Notes

Cutaway Notes does not operate a submission inbox or an open contact form. What we offer instead is a correction method any reader can use.

If something on this site looks wrong, first identify the exact article by its title, then quote the sentence or passage as it appears, including any nearby heading. Note what you think is inaccurate and, if you can, name the source that supports your reading. Links to primary or institutional sources are more useful than general disagreement, though we welcome both.

Second, classify the issue. Common categories are: a misattributed source, an overstatement of what a source supports, an outdated reference, or a claim we should not have made at all. Classification helps us fix the right layer rather than patching wording.

Third, record the date you checked the page. Editorial pages change, and a dated note tells us whether you are reading the current version.

Keep the note short and specific. One claim, one source, one sentence about the discrepancy is enough.

We treat correction notes as evidence records, not as pitches, article requests or viewing recommendations. We cannot promise a reply or a publication date, and we do not accept material that asks us to review a specific film, promote an event, or list a screening. Where a correction is adopted, the revised passage will name the nature of the change rather than quietly disappearing.
